SECURITY OFFICER: SITUATIONAL RESPONSE II

SECURITY OFFICER: SITUATIONAL RESPONSE II

This four hour class discusses how security officers should respond in emergency situations, and is broken into three "modules." Each module has a quiz at the end of the module to see if you have understood the concepts presented. There is a ten question final exam after you have completed the third module. In the first module, "Fire Safety and Hazardous Materials," we discuss the basic elements of fire safety and the handling of hazardous materials, as well as how you can aid emergency responders in fire-related emergencies. The second module, "Basic First Aid," explains the active and important role that professional security officers can provide to an organization in emergencies involving serious injuries to people. In the third module, "Campus Safety and Security," we will primarily focus on the "legal" aspects of this subject, but we will also discuss how the private security officer's role in providing a safe and secure campus experience for all students is crucial and essential – because YOU just might be decisive in saving a student's life someday.
